Contact
Start a conversation
Tell me roughly what you are dealing with. A first conversation costs nothing and often makes clear that you need less than you thought.
Write to me directly
Every message comes to me. You will hear back from me, not from an assistant or an automated sequence.
That button opens your mail program with a short template already filled in. If it does not open, just write to the address above.
Why there is no form here
Contact forms send mail on your behalf from a web server, which means the message arrives unauthenticated and often lands in a spam folder without either of us knowing. Writing directly is more reliable, it puts your own address on the message, and I can reply to it properly.
What helps in a first message
- Your agency and your role.
- Your state, since what governs you varies a great deal.
- Roughly how many cameras you run, fixed and mobile.
- Whether you have a written policy, and roughly when it was last updated.
- Whether anything specific prompted the call. A renewal, a records request, a council agenda item, a complaint.
None of that is required. If you would rather just ask a question, ask it.
What happens next
I read everything myself and reply directly. If what you need is not something I do, I will tell you that rather than scoping an engagement around it.
If you are in Texas
Mention it. The obligations there come through the state access agreements rather than a statute, and the first questions are different. Background is here.
